Day 1: Arrival & Ascending the Ancient Sky Fortress

  • Arrival & Transfer

    Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), you will be warmly welcomed and transferred by private air-conditioned vehicle to the Cultural Triangle region (approx. 3.5 - 4 hours).

  • Afternoon Adventure

    Sigiriya Rock Fortress: This is your first major adventure! We will climb the 5th-century rock fortress of Sigiriya (a UNESCO site). The climb involves steep steps, but the views from the top, where a magnificent palace once stood, are a phenomenal reward. It's a challenging but manageable climb for the entire family.

Day 2: The Gathering & Sacred Caves

  • Morning Adventure

    Elephant Watching Safari: Today is dedicated to the majestic Sri Lankan elephant. Depending on the season, we will embark on a 4x4 jeep safari at Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Hurulu Eco Park to witness the incredible sight of wild elephants. These parks are famous for the seasonal phenomenon known as "The Gathering," where large herds congregate.

  • Mid-Day Sightseeing

    Dambulla Cave Temple: We will explore the spectacular Dambulla Golden Temple (another UNESCO site), a complex of five caves filled with exquisite murals and over 150 statues of the Buddha.

  • Transfer

    Travel to the hill capital of Kandy (approx. 2.5 hours).

  • Inclusion

    Elephant Watching, Site Seeing (Dambulla).

Day 3: Kandy’s Culture & Misty Tea Hills

  • Morning Sightseeing

    Temple of the Tooth Relic: Visit the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth Relic), one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world.

  • Nature Break: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya:

    Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the stunning botanical gardens, a perfect break for the children to run around and explore the impressive collection of orchids and giant trees.

  • Tea Country Drive:

    Journey up to Nuwara Eliya, the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, known for its cool climate and misty mountains (approx. 3 hours).

  • Tea Factory Visit:

    Stop at a working tea plantation and factory to learn about the process of manufacturing world-famous Ceylon Tea, from plucking the leaves to the final brew.

Day 4: The Legendary Rail Journey & Mountain Hike

  • Morning Adventure:

    The Rail Journey: Prepare for the highlight of the trip! We will embark on the famed scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella. This 3-4 hour journey is consistently ranked as one of the world's most beautiful, winding through lush tea plantations, thick forests, and past cascading waterfalls. We will secure 2nd or 3rd Class Reserved seats for the best local experience.

  • Afternoon Adventure:

    Little Adam's Peak: In the afternoon, enjoy a soft and family-friendly hike up Little Adam's Peak near Ella. It’s an easy trail (approx. 1.5 hours return) that offers spectacular panoramic views of the Ella Gap.

  • Transfer:

    Drive from Ella to the Yala/Tissamaharama region (approx. 3 hours).

Day 5: The Thrill of the Yala Tour

  • Full-Day Yala Tour:

    Rise early for an unforgettable, full-day private jeep safari into Yala National Park. Yala is the best park in the world for spotting the elusive Sri Lankan Leopard and is also a major habitat for elephants, sloth bears, wild boar, water buffalo, and diverse birdlife. A full day provides the best chance for multiple sightings and deep immersion into the jungle.

Day 6: Coastal Forts & Final Shopping Spree

  • Morning Sightseeing & Transfer:

    Drive along the scenic southern expressway towards the coast.

  • Sightseeing: Galle Fort:

    Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort. This beautifully preserved 17th-century Dutch fortress is a fascinating mix of colonial architecture, with streets free of modern traffic, perfect for strolling.

  • Shopping & Exploration:

    Wander the cobblestone streets, visiting boutique shops, art galleries, and cafes. This is the perfect spot for Shopping for quality local souvenirs, including hand-made lace, gemstone jewelry, and spices.

  • Shopping & Exploration:

    Depending on your flight schedule, we will arrange a visit to a reputable store for any last-minute purchases, particularly famed Sri Lankan tea (packaged), spices, or perhaps a responsibly sourced gemstone.

  • Departure:

    Private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) for your onward journey, filled with incredible memories of your family adventure.
